Dr. Gary Arzem

Dr. Gary Arzem earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1989. His practice in companion animal medicine & surgery led to the establishment of the North Yonge Veterinary Hospital in 1992. Dr. Arzem's Animal Hospital serves Aurora, Newmarket, York Region & Toronto Ontario. He has served on the board of the North York Veterinary Association, is past-president of the Veterinary Emergency Clinic of York Region and is active in several veterinary associations. He has many professional interests within companion animal practice such as internal medicine, surgery, and dermatology. Dr. Arzem also enjoys music, golf and baseball.



Dr. Melanie Kenzie

Dr. Melanie Kenzie graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1998. She has a special interest in rabbit medicine and surgery. Dr. Kenzie also has worked part-time as a clinical veterinarian in laboratory animal medicine at the University of Western Ontario. She is passionate about working with ferrets, rats, guinea pigs, and other “pocket pets”. Of course, Dr. Kenzie loves her feline and canine patients, and can often be found with her camera in hand, snapping pictures of cute new puppy and kitten patients! Furthermore, Dr. Kenzie is the author of Pet Patter, a monthly column in SNAP Newmarket. In this column, Dr. Kenzie provides advice on pet health and behavior.



Pamela – Registered Veterinary Technician

Pamela graduated in June 2000 from the Veterinary Technician Program at Seneca College. She has worked at North Yonge Veterinary Hospital for over 8 years! Pamela has a particular fondness for Wheaten Terriers. She and her husband share their home with two adorable Soft-coated Wheaten Terriers, "Isaac" and " Bridget". In her spare time, Pamela enjoys reading, traveling, and boating.



Angela – Registered Veterinary Technician

Angela graduated from Seneca College in 2007. Angela began at our hospital as a co-op student in the fall of 2004 during her final year of high school. During college, she continued to work at our hospital as a kennel attendant. Angela shares her home with "Gizmo”, a chinchilla. In her spare time, Angela likes to fish, boat, snowmobile, and go to the movies.



Jennifer - Registered Veterinary Technician

Jennifer graduated from Seneca College in 2007. She shares her home with an orange tabby named Garfield, a white “tank” of a cat named Duo, and a wonderful, sweet-tempered German Shepherd, Dakota - whom she affectionately calls her “monster”. Jennifer recently volunteered as a veterinary technician in Africa. Ask her about her fascinating experience!



Chantelle - Veterinary Receptionist

Chantelle is a recent graduate of CDI College with a degree in Medical Office Administration. She started with our hospital as a co-op student during college. Chantelle lives with her pets, Winnie (a Jack Russell terrier), Kittie Bears (a cat), Tweeters (a Budgie), and her fish.



Allison – Veterinary Assistant

Allison has worked at North Yonge Veterinary Hospital for 3 years as a veterinary assistant. She is currently enrolled in the Seneca College Veterinary Technician program, and will graduate in 2009. Allison has two cats, Ruby and Fozzie. In her spare time, she likes to knit, read, and go to the movies.



Kellyanne - Veterinary Assistant

Kellyanne has a diploma in Animal Sciences from the International Career School of Canada. She shares her home with an adorable Burmese-Siamese mix named Bailey. Kellyanne also works on weekends as one of our hospital’s kennel attendants – providing attentive care to our pet boarders and our clinic cats, Katalyn and T.J.



Lindsey – Registered Veterinary Technician

Lindsey is a Registered Veterinary Technician and graduated from Northern College in June 2005 and joined the North Yonge team in November of 2005. Her family of pets include her terrier/cross dog named "Eaton", her black cat "Gracie", and her 2 guinea pigs, "Benjamin" and "Emma". Lindsey enjoys all areas of veterinary medicine, but especially likes being part of the surgical team. In her spare time she can be found in the outdoors, camping, canoeing, hiking, or just relaxing by the water.
